On this tour you will learn more about the era of the Brazilian colony and the nobility that inhabited the Recôncavo Baiano. The first city to visit is Santo Amaro da Purificação, which, in addition to its natural beauty, preserves impressive ancient buildings, such as the Chapel of the Santo Amaro, the Solar Paraíso and the Santo Amaro fair.
We continue towards the Cachoeira, called “Cidade Monumento Nacional”, the place has some of the most important buildings that are part of the history of Brazil. Among these: the Hansen Bahia Foundation, the Irmandade da Boa Morte and the Igreja da Ordem Terceira do Carmo, with its columns and altar bathed in gold. Across the Paraguassu River, in São Felix, you will visit the Dannemann Cultural Center, where the best artisanal cigars in the country are made.
Optional: End your tour in the Recôncavo by learning about one of the most important economic activities in the region: tobacco production. You will be guided through the Dannemann tobacco farms and learn the production process, from seed to cigar. You will visit the greenhouses, the countryside and the drying and fermentation sheds. To support the restoration of the Tropical Forest, you will participate in the “Adopt a Tree” project and plant your tree in the Atlantic Forest.
