This tour is perfect for people who want to learn about successful Social Projects and who are interested in discovering and interacting directly with the local community and the inhabitants of a neighborhood that in the 1970s housed the largest occupation on stilts in Brazil.
We will visit some Social Projects carried out in the Community and we will understand their importance in improving the quality of life of the residents, especially children and adolescents, and we will learn a little more about their stories and their daily life.
Our first stop will be at the Espaço Cultural dos Alagados headquarters, which offers theater, dance, music, school support and a very pleasant space with toys and snacks for children and young people of the community. Next we will visit the Luiza Mahin Community School, founded by the women (mothers) of the community who felt the lack of a local school for their children. Today the school is beautiful, well structured and an important support center for parents and children in the neighborhood.
Our visit will provide direct interaction with these children and residents. In addition to having lunch with the locals and delighting in the typical cuisine, we will tour the entire neighborhood and get to know the reality of a favela more deeply.
