On this excursion to Petrópolis, you can visit the imperial city of Brazil, admire the majestic palaces and learn the story of Peter II, one of the most important emperors in the country.

We pick up early from hotels in Rio de Janeiro. Our trip to Petrópolis takes about 2 hours. We stop on the street at Casa do Alemão. Casa do Alemão is a traditional deli that sells European-inspired snacks in particular. Take the opportunity to stretch your legs, go to the bathroom, and buy a snack.
We will stop in Quitandinha. Quitandinha is an old casino that used to host a party for the high society of Rio, now it is used for exclusive private parties. Let’s take beautiful pictures in the huge garden and admire its beautiful architecture.
We continue our tour of the city. Petrópolis is known as the summer residence of the Brazilian imperial family. The city houses a cultural collection that is extremely important for our country. The imperial museum is the point of visit because here you can admire all the furniture, works of art, clothing, jewelry and accessories of the imperial family up close. After visiting the Imperial Museum, continue to the Crystal Palace, St. Peter’s Basilica, the house of Santos Dumont (entry not included) and the clock in Jardim das Flores.
We take a lunch break on the tour (optional). In the afternoon we have a tasting in the Cervejaria Bohemia (optional).
Those who do not want to visit the Bohemia Brewery can use their free time to shop in town. Petrópolis has a street with many shops selling clothes at good prices.
At the end of the tour we will return to Rio de Janeiro.
