During our São Miguel cave tour you will enter the depths of one of the largest ancient caves in the world. Discover the secrets you have inside as you admire the geological formations, making it an ideal trip for the more adventurous.
Arriving at the attraction reception, tourists are greeted by a receptionist who informs them about the existing infrastructure and around the reception there is the opportunity to observe wild animals (red macaws, agouti, coati, etc.) . Before the start of the tour, visitors are introduced to the tour guide who will accompany them throughout the activity and will inform everyone about the general procedures for carrying out the visit to the cave.
Before the excursion begins, the group will watch a four-minute video introducing the São Miguel Caves and the operation of the cave’s safety management system.
Shortly after the group heads towards a suspended path about 5 meters high and 180 meters long which ends in a belvedere from which you can observe the valley and the typical vegetation of the place. The walk leads another 120 meters on footbridges to a panoramic point to observe the cave, where you have the first visual contact with its interior. Visitors are then guided to the cave entrance on another 160-meter path to begin the tour inside. In this path, characteristic speleological formations such as stalactites, stalagmites, columns, travertines and coral are known. There is also a chance to see the Suindara owl living in the cave. For this, lanterns and artificial lighting are used inside the cave. At the end of the tour, the tourists return to the reception by walking on a different path.
